The demo features a key episode in the Heroes V storyline where players will follow Gotai, a young warlord of the Orc tribes, as he leads his armies in an invasion of the Griffin Empire. Players can control the new Orc faction by building cities, recruiting troops, and fighting battles with brand new creatures and discover the unstoppable power of the Orcs on the battlefield, using the all-new "Blood Rage" and "War Cries" features.

2. Installation
===============

(!)Before installing Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East, please verify that your computer meets the minimum requirements. Close all other programs.

1. Place game installation disc into disc drive and wait for autorun program to launch (or double click on disc drive icon), then choose 'Install' button on the autorun screen. Also you may do it by performing following instructions:

"My Computer" -> right click on your disc drive icon -> choose 'Open' in floating menu -> run Setup.exe;

or:

use Windows "Start" button -> "Run..." -> enter in command line "disc drive letter:setup" -> press 'OK' button.

2. Follow the Install Shield instructions.

(!)DirectX 9.0c must be installed.

(!)It's not recommended to install Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East to the Windows folder or to the root of the system drive.

Upon installation you can run the game either from the Windows start menu
('Start' -> 'All Programs' -> 'Ubisoft' -> 'Heroes of Might & Magic V - Tribes of the East - Demo' -> 'Heroes of Might & Magic V - Tribes of the East - Demo) or use the 'H5_Game.exe' file from the ‘bin’ directory inside the game installation directory (by default, the game will be installed into "C:Program FilesUbisoftHeroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East - Demo").

4. Game Saves
=============

Saved games are stored in a special folder within the current user's "My Documents" folder. This folder can be found at the following path:
"My Documents" -> "My Games" -> "Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East - Demo" -> "Profiles" -> folder with user profile name -> "Saves".


5. Troubleshooting
==================

5.1 Outdated or incorrect video drivers may cause some issues. Before contacting support, please check you have the latest versions of video drivers and correct DirectX 9.0c version for you system. You may find lastest version drivers at:

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html for AMD/ATI Technologies graphics cards

DirectX 9.0c version may be found on the game installation disc.

5.2 Also, before launching the game, make sure that no other programs are running.

5.3 The game does not support playing through http proxy. The player needs direct (real IP) or NATed (most intranets) internet connection. In case a firewall is present, the player needs to open some ports. Here they are:

6668 TCP (IRC servers(chat in lobby))
40000 to 42999 TCP (Various Ubi.com servers)
44000 UDP (CDKey servers)
45000 UDP (NAT server)
42500 UDP ( CDKey local port, can be configured by player through game config files, "setvar net_ubi_cdkey_port = ", defaults to 42500)
8888,8889 UDP UDP (The Game itself, can be configured by player through game config files, "setvar net_game_port = " defaults to 8888; "setvar net_lan_match_maker_port = ", defaults to 8889 )

5.4 To read the game manual you need Adobe Acrobat Reader. There are two english versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader available on the disk in "SupportAdobe" : for Win2k, and for WinXP. You can download other versions from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html


6. Known issues
===============

Video
-----
Switched off 'V-Sync' option in your video driver options may cause twitched animations in Town if you rotate camera manually.

Compatibility with Windows Vista
--------------------------------
Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East is not 100% Vista Compliant.



Running game on Crossfire AMD/ATI cards
---------------------------------------
The users may also experience flickering graphics when having a configuration based on an ATI Crossfire solutions under Windows Vista. Disable the Crossfire fuctions to solve this issue
