E3 2008: See NBA 2K9 in Motion (For a Few Seconds)
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 17:01:09 +0000
NBA 2k9 E3 2008 Trailer (HD)It’d be nice if we got an all-gameplay trailer for NBA 2K9, because that’s really all that matters. But the marketing folks have had their way and have masked the few seconds of gameplay in the trailer above with nothing short of an “OMG Kevin Garnett!” setup that just irritates me as a Lakers fan.
E3 2008: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix Has Some Hot Visuals
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 16:38:23 +0000
Jonathan and I will preach to you the amazingness that is Puzzle Quest all day long, but I don’t think either of us would ever try to convince you that it’s a good looking game. From what we’ve seen of Galactrix up until now, I still wouldn’t dare try to claim that it’s a good looking game, but some of the new screens from E3 this week have changed my tune.
E3 2008: Geometry Wars 2 Looks Like Geometry Wars on Drugs
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 16:19:15 +0000
Geometry Wars 2 E3 2008 TrailerA lot of people originally described Geometry Wars as being like Asteroids on drugs. I feel like that’s a pretty appropriate analogy for Geometry Wars 2, only replace ‘Asteroids‘ with ‘Geometry Wars‘ — this looks absolutely insane. If you thought the action in GW was chaotic, you haven’t seen anything yet.
E3 2008: Media Molecule Talks About LittleBigPlanet's Press Conference Presentation
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 16:10:48 +0000
If you watched Sony’s press conference earlier this week, you probably appreciated the way in which Sony presented its various bragging numbers. While Nintendo and Microsoft did it in boring PowerPoint slideshow style, Sony opted instead to have Media Molecule’s Alex Evans play through a level of LittleBigPlanet that was specifically designed to help illustrate the numbers that Sony was presenting. Yeah, it still comes down to a “look at how awesome Sony is!” type of ordeal, but you’ve gotta give them credit for being creative with it.
PlayStation (Portable) Store 7/17: Rayman and Star Trek: Tactical Assault
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 15:21:03 +0000
A pair of downloadable games have been released on the PlayStation Store for PC: the PS1 Classic Rayman and the formerly available-only-on-UMD PSP title Star Trek: Tactical Assault. Rayman is just $6, while Star Trek is available for the much higher price of $20, which seems pretty high for a game that’s nearly two years old and wasn’t received well by critics.
PlayStation Store 7/17: Rayman and Elefunk
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 14:52:09 +0000
Looks like we’re back to the regular updates to the PlayStation Store, with significantly fewer videos being released yesterday. No worries, though, as in lieu of that you can get your hands on the demo or full version of Elefunk ($5) which I’m really looking forward to playing. (I mysteriously can’t connect to PSN this morning, like Sony is just trying to tease me.)
